We love our spacious backyard!!

& one of us loves the camper that is parked back there (ok, 2 including Michael).  The yard is spacious enough that we can park it in the yard without looking completely trashy.  Or so says one of us...

When we moved in, there were no sprinklers, no grass, no garage, few trees & it was uneven.  There was also a big concrete slab, that ironically, could now hold a trailer.  We still have a lot to do, such as adding more shrubbery and fixing the back fence.

It is a 1969 Streamline camper; Marc says these are not the most flattering pictures of his new toy (aka "silver bullet", "eyesore" and "Michael's future playhouse"). It is actually quite neat and clean inside, has A.C., shower, toilet, sink etc. and we feel confident that we can resell it if we never use it...  Oh, and Michael really likes it; he points at it and laughs.  So does his mommy, no wait, she cries.  Update:  Because we converted our guest room to Michael's room in May 2004, the trailer has functioned as our guest house.  Our guests have enjoyed their private, quiet space.

The yard BEFORE (when we first moved in):

weeds, shed, big concrete parking area (top right corner), no garage, no sprinklers, no trailer.

AFTER (April 2003):

new garage, grass, sprinklers, 6 new fruit trees, garden, no more concrete.  We still need to add native plants around the oak tree in back and around the garage. --oh, wait, we bought a camper, so that eliminates the need for 1/2 the vegetation.  (fyi: the cars enter the garage from the alley behind the house.)

June 2003; look at our garden grow:
